Home Visits

Open to pregnant moms and/or families with children from birth till eligible for Kindergarten or Capital Area Head Start who reside in Perry County.

  • Personalized home visits offered twice a month by a Parent As Teacher certified Family Educator.
  • Information and guidance on parent education, child development, constructive play and more.
  • Periodic developmental screenings to ensure that the children have no undetected problems.
  • A referral network to help the family find special services, if needed that is beyond the scope of the Family Center.

Parent-Child Playgroup

Second Wednesday of each month

An opportunity for parents to get connected with other parents and for their children to interact with children of similar ages while they are learning about a special topic each month.

Lending Library

The Perry County Family Center offers a variety of items to borrow free of charge. Items include: Toys, Children and Resource Books, Educational Video/DVDs, and Cassette tapes/CDs.

Free Section

The Perry County Family Center offers clothes, toys, books, food, etc. free of charge. The items that are available are donations from the community and vary from week to week.

Car Seat Loaner Program

Car Seats (5 lbs. to 100 lbs.) - Infant, convertible, and booster seats are available. There is a fee of $1.00 per month rental plus a $10.00 refundable deposit.
